nVent has done almost everything right. Management sold the slower-growth Thermal Management business to Brookfield for ~$1.7B (Jan-2025), redeployed into the electrical and data-center value chain (Trachte, EPG), and rode a genuine AI-data-center demand wave: FY2025 organic growth +12.6% accelerating to +34% organic in Q1-2026, backlog up +213% to ~$2.35B, adjusted EPS guided up twice to $4.45–4.55 for 2026. The Electrical Connections franchise (CADDY/ERICO; ~44.5% gross margin, ~28.7% operating margin, stable share) is a real, narrow moat. This is a higher-quality, faster-growing company than the one that spun out of Pentair in 2018. None of that is in dispute.
The problem is entirely price and what it now assumes.
